The average value of online bookings are 6% higher, according to an analysis of booking patterns by a recently-launched holiday comparison site.
However when asked to provide the true stats on its claims its was no surprise that they could not.. Just another of those silly travel comparison sites, which released a report on its first two months booking patterns today.

XL Leisure Group is at the centre of speculation over refinancing plans.
Weekend newspaper reports claimed that the UK’s third largest tour operating group was in urgent refinancing negotiations.
It seems that Xl needs urgent Finance associated with fuel hedging positions is understood to be at the centre of discussions.
A spokesman for XL, which includes XL Airways and operator brands such as Kosmar Holidays, Aspire, Travel City Direct and Freedom Flights, said it was not close to breaching the terms of its banking loans.

The decline in the proportion of sales through high-street agencies appears is on the increase, according to new industry-wide statistics.
High-street travel agencies have seen a decline to just a 28% share of passenger bookings until the end of June for the second summer running, against a 62% increase for online sales.
This is against a backdrop of tough trading: passenger numbers declined 14% in June compared with the same month last year. Passenger numbers fell 5% in May.
But cumulatively, the figure for summer is down just 0.5% compared with last year.

Apparently more than 80% of Managers are so “paranoid” that they stay in touch with the office while on holiday.
Is this just normal Paranoia or conscientiousness in the workplace, you choose and add your thoughts below.
All this from a recent survey by cheaperholidays.com. For one thing I am not in the least surprised and also, does this necessarily make them paranoid? Or perhaps just conscientious?
There is a fine line between paranoia and being conscientious but it is also part of today’s modern flexible working.
