Holiday book recommendation
Monday 14th of January 2008 - Travel report by cheap-holidays
Oh, the trials and tribulations of finding a holiday book to read ! Those two weeks off represent the time in which most of us do the majority of our reading.
Our recommendation for the Holiday book, is Michael Dobbs Churchill’s hour, “an intriguing tale of espionage and treason,” set against the backdrop of WW2 and is historically accurate.
Churchill’s hour will keep your enthralled for the duration of your holiday whether your in the Caribbean Maldives or Spain.
Even the most high-minded holiday maker wants a B-road not an A-road, something that takes you meandering down pleasurable landscapes of the imagination. You want to read entirely for pleasure.
Somehow, all those prizes for fiction and biography – the Booker, the Whitbread, the Orange, the Samuel Johnson – are likely to fall into this last category. Yet even so, the holiday read can be a minefield for those who choose to relax in the vicinity of other readers.
