The Luxury line Crystal Cruises is adding a £4 surcharge on all 2008 cruise bookings due to escalating fuel prices.

The latest fuel supplement is applied on a per passenger, per day basis on all new cruise bookings taken on or after December 4th 2007.

So 2 passengers £8 per day times say 14 days an extra £112 on the cost of the holiday cruise

UK sales and marketing  said: “Escalating shipping fuel costs continue to impact on Crystal Cruises’.

Cheaper holidays report: Unsecured creditors owed almost £18.5 million from the collapse of cruise agency Cruise Control over two years ago are unlikely to get any money back.

Liquidations Pricewaterhouse Coopers revealed that a figure of £18.55 million in potential claims had been identified. This was £12 million more than had been originally estimated.

So far only £525,743-worth of assets has been recovered, including the sale of the Cruise Control database for £415,000. Estimated total assets are £1.1 million.
